DIRECTOR OF NURSINING SERVICES
The Iosco Medical Care Facility is looking for a “Go-Getter” to lead our nursing team into person-directed care. You must love the sunrise side of the state and yearn to live "Up North." As the Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for the coordination of care, quality of interventions / outcomes, and financial management of clinical services. You will interact with other departments within our home.
We need someone who can lead, motivate, educate and mentor professional, licensed and certified staff.
- Michigan RN Licensure
- Nurse Practitioner welcome
- Long term care/Director of nursing experience preferred
- Prior management experience preferred
- CPR Certified

We are looking for a Director of Nursing that is person-directed and who will enrich the lives of our residents, families and employees. We are searching for a dedicated leader who has passion to serve the elderly; strives to be a team player; maintains a positive outlook; able to problem solve, and is caring, compassionate and forward-thinking. As the Director of Nursing, you assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of clinical services.
As part of the Interdisciplinary Team, you allocate resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain / maintain their highest individual level of person-centered living.
- Build and maintain relationships with our elders, their families, and our staff.
- Help develop a unified Interdisciplinary Team in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Maintain and build a nursing team who provide person-directed care in coordination with the Interdisciplinary Team.
- Direct and assist with the evaluation of the work performance of all nursing personnel and provide coaching assistance as needed.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the nursing services, in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern long-term care.
- Collaborate with physicians and physician extenders to ensure medical services are delivered to residents in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Be flexible - Often work above and beyond normal working hours
- Able to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Must have excellent assessment, planning, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with an understanding of person-centered care.
- Able to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Able to communicate orally, through written reports and other documents relating to residents, staff and others. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, clients, customers, and the public.
