Registered Nurse

Utilizes the nursing process to effectively assess and provide appropriate nursing care to patients seeking medical care for their vascular disease in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act.

Essential Functions:

Follows Michigan Vascular Center’s policies and procedures, including HR and accreditation

Demonstrates primary focus of customer service for internal and external customers.

Maintains a professional appearance; takes pride and ownership of work, and works in cooperative and respectful manner with others.

Job Specific Functions:

Pre-operative patient preparation, and post-operative monitoring

Circulating during procedures, including medication management, monitoring vital signs, patient tolerance, supply procurement

Performance of Perma Cath aspiration declots and removals

Scrubs, gowns, and gloves in accordance with AORN standards.

Wound care and staple/suture removals

Follows medication administration and prescription handling according to the policies of MVC and legal regulations.

Within their scope of practice, responds to emergency situations in the office and provides care, until emergency response team assumes care, or situation is resolved. Completes incident reports as necessary.

BLS and ACLS certification

Graduate of accredited school of nursing

Licensed by State of Michigan, in good standing

Possess the Physical ability and perceptive acuity (vision and hearing) to perform all direct and indirect care functions in and out of procedure rooms. Physical ability to stand, wear lead PPE, stoop, lift, reach, and other repetitive movements for long periods of time.
