The MDS Coordinator RN manages the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
They support optimized reimbursement through adherence to PDPM and payer requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include- Supervising staff, including interviewing, training, assigning work, and evaluating performance.
- Handling employee concerns and participating in performance improvement plans.
- Using independent judgment to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance.
- Registered Nurse license required.
- Prior MDS/RAI experience preferred.
- Knowledge of RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, and regulatory standards.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.
