Security Associate - 1st Shift

Schedule (Open Availability Highly Preferred)

8 AM – 4 PM

Pay Range: $16 hourly

As a Safe and Secure Associate, you will be an integral part of the Safe and Secure Team executing programs and processes at our facility to ensure our associates, customers, and assets are protected. At the gates, you will be the face of Carvana to our associates, vendors, and visitors. You will ensure proper protocols are followed with egress and digress procedures, be well versed on emergency procedures, and provide assistance when needed.

You will play an active role in ensuring our Inventory Control procedures are adhered to.

• Manage and properly document the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center entrance and exit gates.
• Serve as the face of Carvana to associates, vendors, and visitors.
• Lead with effective communication with team, partners, and customers, utilizing strong listening and dialogue skills.
• Conduct routine patrols of the Inspection Center and Logistics facility yard and buildings, documenting any security and/or safety concerns.
• Become trained and certified on a variety of life‑saving measures such as first aid, CPR, and AED, and be available when the Team needs assistance.
• Partner with the Safe and Secure Team Lead and Manager to address badge creation requests, CCTV reviews, and other related tasks.
• Promote an incident‑ready focus everyday, understand the Incident Response Protocol, and take appropriate actions when required.
• De‑escalate situations to collaborate with partners and team members while keeping Carvana values in mind.
• Execute Safe and Secure Principles at entrance/exits, following processes for allowing access and exit from the Carvana Facility/Lot.
• Utilize the Safe and Secure Application (SAS App) and RFID technology.

• 1‑2 years of experience in a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of strong decision‑making in a complex environment.
• Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast‑paced work environment.
• Ability to handle conflict situations positively.

• Knowledge of CCTV, RFID, Card Access, and other Safe and Secure technology.
• Previous experience supporting an OSHA program – Safety Team.
• Experience supporting crisis prevention and/or response plans.

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• This position is designated as a safety‑sensitive position.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; major lifting from knee to shoulder heights.
• Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
• Requires standing for extended periods, frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, or pulling in environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, and may contain fumes or odors from vehicle maintenance.
• Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Requires use of safety equipment such as face shield or goggles, non‑slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Requires frequent driving and computer data entry.
• Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
• The facility operates 24/7; gates must be manned at all times.
