Currently, Goyette Mechanical Company has an immediate opening for an experienced Service Electrician in our Service Department around our Flint, Michigan location. We are looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to join our team. This position will perform a variety of electrical service work in residential and commercial applications, including troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, installations, and small remodel projects.
Requirements- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Genuine care and compassion with a personal drive to help customers
- Quick thinking and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to be covered on Company insurance policy
- Travel to customers' homes and places of business to diagnose and repair electrical issues
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and controls in residential and commercial settings
- Perform electrical service upgrades, panel replacements, and system improvements
- Install and wire air-cooled standby generators and related equipment
- Complete small electrical remodel and renovation projects
- Provide customers with recommendations and options for repairs and upgrades
- Submit complete and organized paperwork in a timely fashion
- Keep company-provided vehicle clean and well maintained
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all applicable electrical codes and regulations
- Must be willing and eligible to join the Electrical Union
- Must have a journeyman license
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders
- Ability to work in residential, commercial, indoor, and outdoor environments
- Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and elevated areas
- Frequent travel to customer locations using a company-provided vehicle
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures
- Occasional overtime and after-hours service work may be required based on business needs
