Job Title
Operates one or more pieces of heavy construction equipment used for the demolition purposes for the removal of identified structures on facility grounds and other locations throughout the City of Flint.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates equipment used in performing a variety of grading, filling, and compaction operations.
Operates an excavator to load, unload, or move materials, and operates a front-end loader to transfer materials on demolition construction projects or special assignments.
Drives a tandem axle dump truck to transport equipment, materials, and supplies.
May assist the garage mechanic both in the field and in the garage with major repairs and overhauls of equipment.
Performs minor repairs on equipment as required.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Entrance RequirementsTwo (2) years of experience in the operation of heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers and backhoes.
Necessary Special Requirement(s)Possession and maintenance of a valid Michigan Driver's License at time of appointment.
Possession and maintenance of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A, at the time of appointment.
Must obtain a CDL N (Tanker) Endorsement within ninety (90) days of hire.
Must obtain required Asbestos Awareness and MIOSHA safety training immediately upon hire.
