Foster Care Case Manager Location Genesee County & SE Michigan Cases Status Full Time Salary 47008 per year Help Change a Childs Story Are you passionate about supporting children and families within the foster care system Join our team as a Foster Care Case Manager and make a lasting difference in the lives of youth by providing stability advocacy and compassionate support In this role youll manage your own caseload work closely with families and community partners and play a critical role in helping children find safe and supportive environments
Why This Role Matters- Every child deserves safety stability and the opportunity to thrive As a Foster Care Case Manager youll be a trusted advocate helping guide children and families through challenging transitions while ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met
- Case Management & Client Support Manage a caseload of foster care cases providing ongoing support and advocacy
- Build relationships with children caregivers and families to support stability and well being
- Offer guidance referrals and mentoring to those involved in each case
- Placement Coordination & Court Involvement Coordinate initial placements and any necessary changes in placement
- Prepare for and attend court hearings providing updates and documentation
- Support children and caregivers through transitions with hands on involvement
- Collaboration & Communication Partner with referral sources courts agencies and community organizations
- Maintain consistent communication with all stakeholders involved in each case
- Advocate for appropriate services and support systems
- Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely case records reports and required documentation
- Track client progress and ensure compliance with all program and regulatory standards
- Bachelors degree in Social Work or related human services field required
- State of Michigan licensure preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in child welfare preferred
- Strong interpersonal organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while managing a dynamic caseload
- Valid unrestricted drivers license with a good driving record
- Reliable personal transportation and current automobile insurance
- Willingness to participate in a 24 hour on call support system as needed
- Passion for working with children and families
- Ability to navigate complex emotionally challenging situations
- Strong advocacy and problem solving skills
- Commitment to making a difference in the lives of youth
