At Wellspring Lutheran Services, we're looking for a Family Coach to join our Mercy House program who believes that every family deserves the opportunity to build a brighter future for themselves and their children.

As a Family Coach, you'll work directly with families living in our transitional housing program, helping them navigate challenges, build life skills, achieve personal goals, and move toward greater independence and self-sufficiency. You'll serve as a mentor, advocate, role model, and source of encouragement while helping create a safe and supportive environment where families can thrive.

This isn't just about monitoring a program or enforcing guidelines. It's about helping families discover their strengths, celebrate progress, and build the skills and confidence needed for long-term success.

Most importantly, you'll help families move from surviving to thriving.

What Your Impact Will Look Like

You'll build supportive relationships with parents and children, helping create an environment where families feel respected, safe, and encouraged.

You'll help families develop practical life skills that support long-term independence, including organization, household management, parenting skills, and daily living routines.

You'll encourage positive interactions, healthy relationships, and personal accountability while helping families work toward their individual goals.

You'll provide guidance and support during challenging moments, helping families navigate obstacles while recognizing and celebrating their accomplishments along the way.

You'll help maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where families can focus on growth, healing, and stability.

You'll collaborate with team members and community resources to help families access the support and opportunities they need to move forward.

Some days you'll be teaching life skills, helping a parent work through a challenge, supporting a child, or celebrating a family milestone. Other days you'll be helping maintain the daily operations of the home, supporting residents through difficult circumstances, and providing the encouragement that helps families keep moving forward.

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of experience working with children, families, or individuals in a helping profession or experience working with homeless individuals/families.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A commitment to working with families experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or other life challenges.
• Sensitivity to diverse cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
