Senior Data Engineer - Gordon Food Service

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain a scalable data platform encompassing a data lake, analytics layer, and enterprise sandboxes.
• Design and implement robust ETL pipelines using Python, Apache Spark, and Airflow to ingest, transform, and catalog large‑scale data sets.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across the platform, leveraging AWS services and best‑practice data modeling techniques.
• Mentor junior engineers, establish coding standards, and drive continuous improvement of data engineering processes.

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering, building data lakes or warehouses on cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and big‑data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
• Strong experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, etc.) and workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL design patterns, and data governance principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in an agile environment.
