Starting Pay: $24.2620 Hourly ($50,465) Step A: $26.1399 Hourly ($54,371) Step B: $27.4563 Hourly ($57,109) Step C: $29.4822 Hourly ($61,323)
Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years' experience as a heavy construction equipment operator
-OR- two (2) years' light equipment operator experience in the Genesee County Drain Department;
-AND
- Possession of a valid Group "A" CDL with endorsement N and no restrictions.
Special Requirements:
Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform essential job duties and functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Job Summary:
Operates a tractor with backhoe attachment or a truck with sewer-rodding or vacuum attachment; works under the general supervision of the Drain Maintenance Supervisor; may be required to supervise subordinate employees; performs related duties as required.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
- Manipulates heavy motor equipment;
- Operates tractor with backhoe attachment for digging holes for repairing and laying tile;
- Operates a sewer-rodding machine mounted on a truck bed in the cleaning of sewers and catch basins;
- Operates a sewer-washing machine mounted on a truck bed in the cleaning of sewers and catch basins;
- Operates a sewer-vacuuming machine mounted on a truck bed in the cleaning of sewers and catch basins;
- Operates a truck in connection with the hauling of refuse obtained from catch basins and sewer lines;
- Performs the same duties a light equipment operator when not performing the duties as a heavy equipment operator;
- Makes routine repairs to heavy equipment;
- Maintains records and submits reports as required.
