Civil Engineer Role

Wood Colombia seeks a Civil Engineer (topographic, roads, cadastral) with a minimum of one year of experience in engineering projects within the Oil & Gas sector to work as a Civil Engineer. Based in Bogotá, the role aims to develop the necessary activities and documents to achieve optimal designs in assigned projects, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and guaranteeing operational safety and economic feasibility required in the project.

Lead small work groups and provide technical support with the support of the Discipline Leader, the development of Civil Designs (Geotechnical, hydraulic, road and topographic), in the assigned projects, ensuring quality and guaranteeing the required safety in the project.

• Conduct field visits for the collection and gathering of information required for project development. Accompaniments in the field for verification of work done by subcontractors.
• Develop discipline-specific deliverables such as: design bases and criteria, specifications, calculation memos, subcontractor inspection plans.
• Review reports and use the data obtained in topographic surveys, soil studies, hydraulic studies.
• Ensure that designs are performed in accordance with national and international codes and standards of NSR-10, RAS, API, ASTM, OSHA regulations, as well as client specifications and good engineering practices.
• If necessary, lead work teams during project execution to ensure the development of contracted deliverables in engineering.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of documents to ensure proper handling of information and integrity of engineering.
• Participate in internal meetings for review/definition of project technical issues.
• Attend scheduled workshops during project development, such as peer review, constructability, design review.
• Support the development and updating of the database of lessons learned, as well as the implementation of these.
• Execute any other responsibility assigned by your immediate supervisor and according to the needs of the company.
• Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
• Ensure the responsible and efficient use of the organization's assets (tools, materials, equipment, information).

Expected:

• Experience in the Oil & Gas sector
• Professional in Civil Engineering (topographic, roads, cadastral).
• Technical knowledge in the area of specialization hydraulic, geotechnics, roads and drains or related
• Basic knowledge of field work procedures (topography, soil exploration)
• Knowledge of national and international standards and regulations
• Knowledge of Civil 3D, Slide software

Desirable:

• English 75% minimum desirable
