Civil Engineer

Wood is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its business unit of Projects, focusing on the Oil, Gas and New Energies (OGNE) area. This opportunity is on-site in Bogotá and is part of a proactive search for anticipated vacancies of the year, with the aim of anticipating future needs and ensuring the best talent for our projects.

Wood Colombia seeks a Civil Engineer (topographic, roads, cadastral) with more than one year of experience in engineering projects within the Oil & Gas sector, to work as a Civil Engineer. Base of work in Bogotá. With the aim of developing the necessary activities and documents to achieve optimal designs in the assigned projects, ensuring their quality, on-time delivery and guaranteeing the operational safety and economic feasibility required in the project.

Direct small work groups and technically support with the support of the Discipline Leader, the development of Civil designs (Geotechnical, hydraulic, road and topographic), in the assigned projects, ensuring their quality and guaranteeing the required safety in the project.

• Comply at all times with the Company's Corporate and local Policies and be consistent with our Corporate Values.
• Conduct field visits for the collection and acquisition of information required for project development. Accompaniments in the field to verify the work carried out by subcontractors.
• Develop specific deliverables of the discipline, such as: design bases and criteria, specifications, calculation memos, inspection plans of subcontractors.
• Review reports and use the data obtained in topographic surveys, soil studies, hydraulic studies.
• Ensure that designs are carried out in accordance with national and international codes and standards of NSR-10, RAS, API, ASTM, OSHA regulations, as well as client specifications and good engineering practices.
• In case necessary, lead work teams during project execution, to ensure the development of the deliverables contracted in the engineering.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of documents, to ensure the proper handling of information and the integrity of engineering.
• Participate in internal meetings for review/definition of technical issues of the project.
• Attend scheduled workshops during project development, such as peer review, constructability, design review.
• Support the development and updating of the database of lessons learned, as well as the implementation of these.
• Execute any other responsibility assigned by your immediate supervisor and in accordance with the needs of the company.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards and procedures.
• Ensure the responsible and efficient use of the organization's assets (tools, materials, equipment, information).

Required Knowledge

• Civil Engineer or road engineer with specialization in roads, hydraulics, geotechnics or related.
• Experience in design of roads/highways (alignments, geometry, road safety, contract specifications, quantities, constructability).
• Experience in earthworks (materials, quantities, platforms, slopes).
• Capable of preparing drawings, documents, details, schedules and specifications using programs such as AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Ensure that all civil engineering designs and construction activities comply with local, state and international regulations, including environmental standards.
• Basic knowledge of field work procedures (topography, soil exploration).
• Training and/or work experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• English 80% minimum desirable.
