Electrical Designer
Wood is seeking an Electrical Designer to join its Project business unit, focusing on the Oil, Gas and New Energies (OGNE) area. This opportunity is based in Bogotá and is part of a proactive search for vacancies planned for 2026, with the aim of anticipating future needs and securing the best talent for our projects.
The Role
Wood Colombia is looking for an Electrical Designer with a minimum of one year of experience in engineering projects within the Oil & Gas sector, to work as an electrical designer. Based in Bogotá. Responsible for designing and/or drawing the deliverables requested by Electrical Engineers, following the applicable standards, codes, and procedures to meet the quality and time requirements of the projects.

- Design and/or draw the deliverables assigned, with Wood's CAD standards to ensure that the plans are aligned with the overall project objectives.
- Work in conjunction with project engineers to ensure the integrity, update, and consistency of the project drawings.
- Assign specific CAD design work to other project members of categories T2, T3, and T4 and support the Discipline Leader in determining talent requirements.
- Elaborate 3D models according to project requirements.
- Elaborate lists of quantities of work or related.
- Attend Design Review workshops.
- Provide technical assistance to the Client either in projects executed in Wood offices or in the Client's offices.
- Ensure the responsible and efficient use of the organization's assets (tools, materials, equipment, information).
- Provide technical support to team members.
- Support the development and updating of the database of lessons learned, as well as the implementation of these.
- Execute any other responsibility assigned by your immediate supervisor and in accordance with the needs of the company.
- Provide technical guidance and be a mentor to new talents.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality standards.

Required:
- Experience in the Oil & Gas sector
- Draftsman technologist in drawing, architecture, and engineering or related
- Knowledge in Cad Worx, Auto Plant, AVEVA E3D is a plus
- Knowledge in corporate CAD standards (layers, Xref, symbology, scale, annotative blocks, coordinates, geographic north, project north, among others).
- Basic handling of technical drawing (descriptive)
- Handling of 2D and 3D software (autocad, Cadworxs, microstation, among others).
- Electrical symbology and other disciplines
- Calculation of conductors, material lists from plans.
- Development and review of deliverables of the electrical scope in CAD (single line diagrams, load boards, floor plans, details, among others).
Desirable:
- Intermediate to advanced English (75%)
