Senior Cost Estimation Specialist

Objective of the role:
Plan, prepare, and present CAPEX and OPEX for national and international projects, considering the available resources allocated by the project, meeting the project's established deadlines, organizing information according to client requirements and Worley standards, and participating in meetings and workshops for the correct and timely presentation of deliverables associated with the estimation discipline.
Senior level position with advanced knowledge and specialized depth or breadth of experience, achieving mastery of a single area or multiple broader areas of specialization.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support and ensure compliance, preparation, and supervision of cost estimates in accordance with approved procedures for the following project phases.
- Plan resources for the fulfillment of deliverables associated with the estimation area and be able to prepare, present, and substantiate documents (estimation plan, estimation bases, estimation reports, CAPEX, OPEX, CAPEX trending, CAPEX reconciliations), following client, company, and industry standards.
- Provide support in the identification, analysis, and generation of innovative solutions to problems related to cost estimation.
- Generate feedback and support in the development and improvement of standards, procedures, and systems for the estimation of bids, offers, or proposals.
- Prepare and conduct kick-off meetings for estimations before the project team and client.
- Organize the available time between project meetings, information request, and preparation and estimation of CAPEX/OPEX.
- Present and substantiate estimation results based on the assumptions or bases adopted in the preparation of the different documents.
- Support the identification of risk areas in the compilation of cost estimates and evaluate appropriate contingency levels; collaborate with the risk team for the preparation of risk analysis, for the estimation of contingency and precision levels.
- Collaborate with the project planning and control area in the elaboration of master work plans.
- Maintain information organized, available for consultations and consolidation of databases of the area or company benchmarking.
- Collaborate with cost estimation for specific studies. Responsible for the integration of activities and identification of the total scope of work. Evaluate the results of the study, the critical path, and the recommended conclusion for consideration and debate by the project team.
- Support the review of provisions related to program/cost engineering, as well as material control, and generate supporting data for contract negotiation. Participate in the establishment of pricing structures that will be applied to the quantities for the estimates.
- Define project needs in terms of cost control according to contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.
- Review design scope criteria and quantities to verify project completeness, and coordinate meetings with different disciplines and project stakeholders to verify information, as well as to define and design provisions according to the level of engineering developed.
- Compare and analyze scope quantities and cost data between projects. In comparison with previous estimates, cost results, and supplier prices, perform reference estimates through benchmarking and industry standards.
- Prepare cash flows and be able to estimate escalations with market information, as well as support the estimation of owner cost development.
- Prepare trends of cost estimates as support for project trend control programs.
- Support the development of benchmarking and estimation tools.
- Ensure the quality of cost estimates following Worley and industry standards, as well as established review procedures.
What you will bring?
Software, processes, and tools:
- Advanced Excel, principles of Power Bi. Ability to help others and solve problems. Possibility to participate in the development of new systems, processes, and tools.
- Professional with 10 or more years of engineering experience.
- Bilingual Spanish-English. Preferably with knowledge of Cleopatra, Aconex, Bluebeam, project management training.
- Experience in project management activities and/or cost management and/or control.
