Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon

NABJC is a trusted orthopaedic leader serving North Alabama with comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care delivered by a collaborative, high-performing team.

We are seeking a Hand & Upper Extremity Surgeon to join an established practice with strong regional demand and immediate volume. The incoming surgeon can tailor growth to desired capacity.

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a sustainable, well-supported upper extremity practice within a respected organization.

Practice Scope

• Distal humerus to fingertip surgery
• Fracture care (simple and complex)
• Arthroplasty and arthroscopy
• Tendon/nerve repair and transfers
• Bread-and-butter hand procedures (carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, trigger finger)
• Optional shoulder arthroscopy/arthroplasty based on interest
• No microsurgery or replant required

There is significant demand for hand and upper extremity services in the region, offering strong volume potential and long-term career stability, and regular Worker’s Compensation cases.

Support

• Experienced clinic and OR staff
• Two Very Skilled Certified Hand Therapists
• PA assistance available

Call

• Coverage at two hospitals
• Approximately 2 weekends per quarter
• 3–4 weekdays per month
• General orthopaedic call (hip fractures, basic trauma)
• No advance call requests

Compensation & Benefits:

• Guaranteed base salary with productivity bonus opportunity as Associate Physician

Education & Qualifications

• BC/BE in Orthopaedic Surgery and Hand Surgery
• Fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic Hand Surgery
• Eligible for or holding a valid Alabama medical license
• Excellent communication skills
• Patient-focused, collaborative team player
