Adjunct Instructor - Family & Community Services

The University of North Alabama invites applications for adjunct (part-time) teaching positions expected to be available in the area of Family & Community Services.

Persons holding adjunct teaching positions normally teach three to six credit hours or nine contact hours per semester.

Payment for adjunct teaching is on a standardized university scale according to credit or contact hours taught.

• A minimum of a doctoral degree in family services, sociology, or a related field is required, plus 18 graduate hours in the desired teaching discipline.
• Applicants must upload a resume at the time of application, as well as provide contact information for at least three professional/academic references.
• Official transcripts for the highest degree attained are required. If graduate hours in the relevant teaching discipline are taken from a degree that is not the highest attained, an official transcript of that degree must also be submitted.
• Electronic copies of unofficial transcripts may be attached under the attachment headings of Unofficial Transcript 1, Unofficial Transcript 2, etc.
• Official transcripts must be sent directly to HR from the issuing school via email or postal mail to be considered official. Transcripts with a designation of "Issued to Student", or with the student’s name listed as the recipient will not be considered official.

Adjuncts are typically paid $800/credit hour or $2,400 per 3-credit course however, some differences may occur based on credit/contact hours taught, and the college/department in which you will teach.
