The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Project Manager;
Capital, Renovation, and In-House Construction. This position is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the University’s capital construction, renovation, and in-house construction projects.

This role leads projects from planning and design through construction and close-out, ensuring delivery that meets university standards and goals for quality, schedule, budget, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Selecting architect(s)
• Preparing and negotiating contract documents and project specifications
• Coordinating construction activities with university departments, utilities, and governmental agencies
• Preparing/justifying work programs and budgets
• Providing assistance in the preparation of comprehensive capital maintenance and capital outlay projects for each fiscal year and subsequent multi-year plans for submittal based on institutional priorities

Minimum qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree required OR a minimum of ten years of experience that reflects progressive responsibility in construction, equipment, maintenance, repair, A & E, or a related area
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical engineering), architecture, building science, or another relevant field will be given preference
• Five years of experience in addition to the bachelor’s degree is required; ten years preferred
• CAD and/or BIM experience is preferred
• Skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Procore, and/or other related software is preferred
• Current, valid driver’s license is required
