Overview

General Responsibilities:

Terracon seeks an experienced Regional Technical Consultant - Geotechnical to join the Gulf Coast Region. The position is eligible to sit in any Terracon office within the Gulf Coast Region (Huntsville, AL;
Birmingham, AL; Mobile, AL; Jackson, MS; New Orleans, LA; Baton Rouge, LA; Lake Charles, LA; Shreveport, LA). The role leads and provides technical expertise in geotechnical services across the Gulf Coast West region, guiding development, operations, and growth of the geotechnical service line. The incumbent will standardize policies, practices, and procedures across offices, monitor performance of geotechnical teams, support training, site visits, quality audits, and safety investigations, and may participate in client development and recruitment for the region.

• Partner with regional departments and offices to provide technical expertise and advance the geotechnical service line.
• Serve as the primary geotechnical subject matter expert, resource, and point of contact for the region.
• Develop, refine, and standardize policies, practices, and procedures for the geotechnical service line across the region.
• Collaborate with other Regional Technical Consultants to align geotechnical services across divisions and operating groups.
• Support growth strategies and actions to achieve strategic and annual operations plans.
• Develop and deliver technical training on drilling and sampling techniques, lab testing standards, engineering analysis, and field practices to regional offices.
• Provide technical support on projects as needed.
• Assist in project, business, and client development; participate in proposals and pursuit strategy activities.
• Assist in identifying and interviewing key geotechnical hires to strengthen regional capabilities.
• Follow safety rules and participate in pre-task planning; report safety issues to management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects and perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
• Minimum of 12 years of related experience in Geotechnical Engineering, particularly in consulting
• Professional Registration License in Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama is required; ability to obtain licensure in other states is preferred

• Master's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
• Minimum of 15 years of related experience in Geotechnical Engineering, particularly in consulting
• Ability to obtain professional registration in other states preferred
