Responsibilities
- Provide specialized expertise in structural systems supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA)
- Ensure structural integrity assessments are accurately captured in the DHA database
- Provide expert structural engineering guidance for complex healthcare facilities
- Develop strategic recommendations for facility recapitalization plans
- Evaluate building components and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Assess structural conditions of medical centers, hospitals, and laboratories
- Ensure compliance with building codes and provide technical oversight for structural modifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural concentration
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering
- Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards, IBC, ASCE 7
- Demonstrated experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
- May require up to 25% travel to various DHA sites to conduct on-site assessments
