We are looking for a Loan Assistant to join our team! The Loan Assistant’s responsibilities include assisting loan officers at the highest level, facilitating the loan process, including preparing and/or reviewing loan approvals, anticipate the documentation needed and requirements for commercial, agricultural, and consumer purpose loans in accordance with regulations, and providing support for co-workers by working as a team to assist the loan officers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Enter customer and loan information in loan origination platform, and request additional information based on type of loan
- Order credit reports, OFAC reports, business entity search, flood determinations, environmental reports and/or any other reports required for the loan
- Review documents received for each loan file, verifying the accuracy and completeness of each document
- Obtain proof of value and insurance for collateral
- Order appraisal and title work for real estate related loans
- Review closed loan package for booking; close loan with customers as needed
- Disburse loan proceeds and process draws on lines of credit
- Track documents related to loan files - recorded mortgages, final title policies, vehicle titles, financials, etc.
- Prepare loan renewal, extension, and modification requests, process loan withdrawals and denials
- Schedule meetings with loan officer to discuss status of new and renewing loans
- 2+ years of banking experience; previous experience in loans preferred
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and passion for excellence
- Excellent computer and communication skills (in person, phone, and email)
- Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals
- Seasoned in prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work proactively with Loan Officer to provide support.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to identify solutions and work with the Loan Officer to implement them.
- Friendly, courteous, and professional disposition; ability to influence and drive results, processes, and performance
