North Alabama Medical Center's 24-hour emergency department serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases in Northwest Alabama.

Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.

Minimum Education:

High School diploma or GED - Preferred;
Active - Instrument Room Certification - Highly Desired

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Instrument Room Certification required within 12 months;
Licenses:

Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements. Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety. Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need. Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.

Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily. Nonessential Functions:
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
