• Lead and support sales for procurements on strategic opportunities, including client identification, client relationship development, opportunities identification and advancement, and proposals development

• Lead geographic and service expansion growth for Natural Resources Assessment and Permitting, including but not limited to Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, and Alabama

• Support and lead growth for Federal projects, coastal resilience, and Nature-Based Solutions

• Liaise and collaborate with regional and North America counterparts on key accounts that have broad footprint

• Collaborate with regional and North America leaders to prioritize and plan areas of focus

• Identify, recruit, hire, and mentor staff as part of growing the team

• Provide leadership support across the Business Center and region, in particular but not limited to local staff in Stantec's New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana offices, and support resource technical leads in the region

• Work collaboratively with the North America oil and gas, energy, transportation, Federal, community development, water and others business sectors to grow and strengthen client relationships and develop new client account opportunities

• Serve as a Senior Natural Resources and Permitting (&P) leader and business developer for clients and opportunities in the Gulf Coast and nationally

• Support program management and project delivery, providing technical expertise for environmental surveying, reporting, and permitting services

• Identify project-specific environmental design and regulatory requirements according to the client's risk management profile, industry precedents, existing guidance, regulations, best practices, and lessons learned, and use that information to inform permitting support strategies

• Establish project objectives and procedures and lead teams on proposals, planning studies, designs, due diligence and permitting projects

• Maintain strong understanding, execution, and mentorship for program management and project management areas such as client account/portfolio management, scope, cost, schedule, risk, and quality

• Manage and provide technical leadership for strategic Environmental Services projects

• Assess strengths, challenges, and areas of need within the &P resource teams and develop solution-oriented strategies in collaboration with other regional leaders and sector leaders

Requirements
  • Strong business development expertise and client relationship growth experience across the southeastern U.S. to drive significant growth and opportunities
  • Excellent local, state, and Federal compliance and environmental assessment and permitting (including agency coordination) experience with Gulf agencies
  • Strong knowledge of the requirements of key permits at the local, state, national, and federal level (e.g. United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), NEPA, Endangered Species Act (ESA), Section 404 CWA/Section 10 Rivers and Harbors Act (RHA), United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS))
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen, leadership, client account management, and portfolio growth capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead diverse resource teams and manage large complex environmental projects
  • An enthusiastic attitude to collaborate with others and be a key part of a team focused on growing the regional permitting program
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelors' or advanced degree in environmental science, biological resources or closely related field
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience providing or managing technical services in a professional services setting, preferably in the southeastern US
  • 10 years' experience in a client-facing role (including business development and/or client management)
