About This Position:

Premier Mantels is looking for an Assembler to join our shop floor team who will build wood mantels and shelves. In this hands-on role, you'll work from your own dedicated builder station, cutting, sanding, and assembling custom wood mantels and mantel shelves. We're looking for someone with finished carpentry or cabinet assembly experience who takes pride in precise, quality craftsmanship.

• Location: Florence, Alabama
• Reports to: Plant Manager
• Shift: Full-time, Mon-Thurs, (6:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
• Hourly Rate: $17.00 per hour

What You’ll Do:

Assemble wood parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment in a team setting.

• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun.
• Maintain inventory of products in work stations.
• Perform quality work checks to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety policies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• 1-2 years related work experience as an assembler or carpenter.
• Must be able to read and use a ruler or tape measure.
• Basic reading and math skills. Must be able to follow directions.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems as well as think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.

Physical demands and abilities

• Regularly lift 30-50 pounds.
• Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
• Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
