Our Medical‑Surgical Vascular unit specializes in caring for patients with complex vascular and circulatory conditions, as well as general medical and post‑surgical needs. This unit provides nurses the opportunity to develop strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and technical skills while caring for patients before and after vascular procedures and surgeries. Patients on this unit may include those with peripheral vascular disease, arterial and venous disorders, wound complications, post‑operative vascular care, and chronic conditions requiring ongoing monitoring and education.
Nurses work closely with vascular surgeons, hospitalists, wound care specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care. Nurses on this unit are provided the opportunity to earn dialysis certification as part of their professional development.
- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs
- Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient
- Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
- Be responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Perform timely and accurate QI assessments
- Applicants should have a current state RN license
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within six months of hire
- Two to three years of experience preferred; new graduates welcomed to apply
