The Endoscopy Department at North Alabama Medical Center provides high‑quality, patient‑centered diagnostic and therapeutic services in a safe and compassionate environment. The team of experienced physicians, nurses, and support staff uses advanced technology to perform a wide range of procedures including screening, diagnostic, interventional endoscopy gastrointestinal and lung procedures. With a strong focus on patient comfort, safety, and timely care, the department plays a vital role in early detection, treatment, and ongoing management of digestive health conditions.
Howyou’ll contribute
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
- Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
Schedule: PRN – Shifts Vary – No On Call Required
What we’re looking for- Associate’s degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
- Nursing License
- Some Endoscopy experience preferred
- BCLS and ACLS required
- PALS, and Handle with Care preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
