As a Registered Nurse (RN) joining our team, you will support patients and community members and help achieve our mission of making communities healthier ®.
About the UnitOur Post‑Surgical Overflow Medical‑Surgical Unit is a 32‑bed inpatient unit specializing in care of patients recovering from general, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures. Nurses typically manage a 1:6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, providing comprehensive postoperative monitoring, pain management, and coordinated interdisciplinary care.
Responsibilities- Accurately perform patient assessments and identify medical‑surgical needs
- Conduct post‑operative assessments
- Perform wound care
- Document timely and appropriately in the medical record regarding medical necessity
- Assist in multidisciplinary collaborations

- Valid Alabama or compact state RN license.
- Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Basic Life Support mandatory; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.
- Experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
North Alabama Medical Center opened in 2018 as a replacement facility for Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama.
