Health Plus Staffing is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing for Emergency Services to lead a high-volume, fast-paced Emergency Department in northwest Alabama. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a seasoned nursing professional who is passionate about driving clinical excellence, improving patient outcomes, and fostering a collaborative, patient-centered culture.
The selected candidate will oversee the strategic and operational direction of the Emergency Services department while partnering with physicians, hospital leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care.
Practice Details- Full-time employed leadership position
- Oversight of a busy, 24/7 Emergency Department
- Lead and support a collaborative team of approximately 70 RNs and nursing support staff
- Department volume of approximately 46,000 patient visits annually
- Responsible for strategic planning, operational performance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and executive leadership to enhance patient care delivery
- Drive staff recruitment, retention, engagement, and professional development
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and departmental financial performance
- Provide strategic leadership for all Emergency Services operations
- Develop and implement innovative programs to improve quality and patient outcomes
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in a high-acuity acute care environment
- Advance performance improvement initiatives through data analysis and evidence-based practices
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and patient-centered care
- Oversee ongoing staff education, competency validation, and clinical excellence

- Base Salary: $70,000 – $130,000
- $10,000 Sign-on Bonus

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current Alabama RN license or eligibility for Alabama licensure
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in Emergency Services
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective working relationships
- Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in an acute care setting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement performance improvement initiatives
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain within an established timeframe)
- Clean nursing license with no disciplinary actions
- Previous Emergency Department leadership experience strongly preferred
