Description:
The Float Pool RN - PRN is a professional registered nurse responsible for the nursing care of a defined patient population. Care is provided through the use of the nursing process and in a manner that is cost effective while maintaining quality of care and optimal patient outcomes. The SN/SSN performs assessments, planning, and implementation of nursing interventions and evaluates the effectiveness of care.
The SN/SSN participates in unit based and organizational quality improvement initiatives, meets continuing education requirements, participates in student/new employee orientations/teaching activities, upholds Patient Care Services philosophy and objectives, demonstrates professional growth and development through involvement in professional organizations, review of professional literature and participation in continuing education programs.
Position Requirements: BSN or advanced nursing degree required. Licensed to practice as Professional Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or have an active Multi-State Registered Nurse Compact License. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). Strong organization and communication skills. Must effectively speak, read and write English. An ADN may be considered in lieu of a BSN if the following criteria are met:
Preferred Requirements:
Previous experience in a like-setting; area specific advanced certification; two or more years of experience in a setting comparable to the intended float areas.
