Manager, Environmental Health & Safety
The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Manager, Environmental Health & Safety. This position serves as the environmental health and safety program coordinator and is responsible for supporting environmental, health, and safety compliance programs across campus. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, coordinating safety training, maintaining regulatory records and documentation, investigating incidents, managing hazardous waste activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
The position works closely with campus departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies to promote a safe and compliant work and learning environment. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, industrial technology, engineering technology, chemistry, biology, or a related field is required; a minimum of five years of experience in environmental safety, chemistry, biological science, occupational health, or industrial hygiene is required;
three to five years of EHS, safety compliance, environmental compliance, facilities safety, laboratory safety, or related experience is required; a current, valid driver's license is required; and OSHA 30, CHMM, ASP, CSP, or similar certifications are preferred but not required.
