As one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations in the world, we operate four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US. We are currently seeking a Clinical Research Nurse I to interact directly with healthy volunteer participants while learning to read clinical research protocols and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This full-time, office/clinic-based position is located in Madison, WI. You will work with leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies in the critical early stages of drug development, establishing the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of new therapeutics.
What you will do- Provide a high standard of care in clinical research, ensuring the dignity, health, safety, and welfare of participants is given the highest priority at all times.
- Maintain current emergency certifications and follow company emergency policy and procedures; respond to emergencies according to nursing standards.
- Use nursing assessment skills to observe participants’ general well-being, identify potential adverse events, document them, and initiate appropriate action.
- Obtain informed consent and continue the ICF process by educating and informing participants about study procedures.
- Administer investigational compounds—including parenteral doses—to participants in accordance with protocol and regulations.
- Perform study-related activities such as cannulation, telemetry, Holters, vital signs, ECGs, and venipuncture.
- Undertake any other duties required to support the study.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with current licensure in the applicable state.
- CPR/AED certification; ACLS certification preferred upon entry (may be obtained on the job).
- Additional experience can substitute for educational requirements.
0-1 year of related experience. Additional experience may substitute for education requirements.
Physical RequirementsAbility to work upright or in a stationary position for 6-8 hours per day, perform repetitive hand movements and operate laboratory equipment, and occasionally crouch, stoop, bend, and twist the upper body and neck. Requires access to and use of various computer software.
