Security Supervisor – NANA Regional Corporation – Florence, AL.

- Perform duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security and escort of detainees.
- Exercise surveillance and control over officers and detainees, maintaining order and discipline.
- Enforce rules and regulations of the detention facility, ensuring adherence to facility policies.
- Provide care, custody and control of detainees, and complete all duties in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
- Follow company-wide safety policies and practices, reporting and monitoring safety prevention activities as outlined in the Officer Handbook.
- Complete all assigned training, including defensive tactics and courses requiring minimum physical stamina.
- Ensure shift scheduling provides adequate staff coverage.
- Conduct health, safety and sanitation inspections of each post.
- Prepare and submit shift reports to the Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer (SDDO) and AGS shift Captain.
- Inspect facility and unit logs for accuracy.
- Maintain secure and orderly operation of the facility in accordance with Performance Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) and American Correctional Association (ACA) standards.
- Keep the facility sanitation maintained.
- Ensure staff assigned to the Florence Facility maintain accurate documentation and sign post orders.
- Coordinate movement and transfers with the ICE Transportation Coordinator or Transportation Shift Supervisor.
- Speak, read, write and understand English.
- Prepare concise and accurate narratives of incidents and other written reports.
- Maintain required medical, physical testing and fitness standards.
- Exercise judgment and discretion in first response to all situations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in methods and techniques of securing and controlling detainees following training, policy, and procedure.
- Maintain professional appearance, calm demeanor and discretion with confidential information.
- Show high integrity, accountability and adherence to DHS ICE National Detention Standards.
- Work effectively with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures and lifestyles.
- Lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
- Push a wheelchair‑bound individual weighing up to 300 lbs and assist individual in and out of chair.
- Bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, twist, reach overhead and climb stairs, ladders and slopes periodically.
- Maintain physical fitness standards throughout employment under this contract.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum 5 years of security, law enforcement or military experience preferred.
- Pass criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
- Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
- Pass all pre‑employment and random drug tests.
- Pass medical examination and meet health requirements.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a state security guard license.
- Walk through all areas of the facility for tours and compliance inspections in varied weather conditions.
- Stand, sit, walk, bend and reach for extended periods of time.
- Respond quickly during emergency situations.
- Work without restrictions and limitations.
- Greet and deal tactfully and professionally with the general public.
- Follow and interpret written and verbal orders, policies and regulations.
- Exercise good judgement: courage, alertness, even temperament, and render satisfactory performance.
- Maintain poise and self‑control during potential emergencies and unexpected situations that may involve mental and physical stress.
- Maintain professional appearance and calm demeanor.
- Adhere to American Correctional Association and DHS ICE National Detention Standards.
- Maintain current/physical residency in the continental United States.
- Maintain physical fitness standards required for a law‑enforcement related position.
