Job Summary
Provides a reasonably safe and secure environment by providing security services for staff, patients, visitors, and premises, and serves as first responder to urgent facility matters.
Responsibilities- Protect property and staff through interior and exterior rounds, observing for safety and security issues, theft, and monitoring parking lots.
- Promote visitor and employee safety by performing door checks, detecting lighting deficiencies, confirming proper operation of elevators, assisting disruptive individuals, patient restraints, and providing escorts to staff and clients when requested.
- Respond to overhead pages or requests for assistance, including escorting emergency personnel through the building and providing post-mortem services.
- Provide professional customer service when dealing with complex and dynamic situations, using a proactive approach to identifying safety and security hazards by communicating with clinical staff.
- Observe and report any security concerns or assessments.
- Complete incident reports and shift logs, forwarding them to appropriate individuals.
- Provide maintenance assistance through property conservation and campus safety approaches such as alarm testing, checking life safety equipment, AEDs, oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers, access control, badging, door integrity checks, etc.
- Enforce organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist with monitoring, reviewing, and investigating incidents utilizing the video management system.
- Operate motor vehicle to patrol, if required.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and perform tasks safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED, or 10 years of relevant work experience.
Must be able to use hearing, vision, speech, and physical abilities as described, including lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs, frequent standing, walking, and occasional driving.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications- State of Illinois:
Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and Driver License, Firearm Owner Identification Card (FOID), Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or active law enforcement officer. - State of Missouri: MVR and Driver License, Security Officer License in St. Charles County or St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
- State of Oklahoma and Wisconsin: MVR and Driver License.
