Full‑time faculty members are professional educators whose primary responsibility is to provide a quality education for Central Arizona College students. Faculty members perform instruction‑related and other duties and responsibilities in accordance with the philosophy, vision, mission, policies, and procedures of the college. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher, mentor, facilitator and evaluator of learning.
InstructorDescription
Instructor will teach 15 to 20 inmate/students at the Arizona State Prison – Florence Complex. Position is supported and funded through Arizona Department of Corrections, with a consistent and long history of contract renewal. Position is full time – 12 months per year. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid vacation/sick leave, life insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement for employee and dependents.
Responsibilities- Responsible for shop equipment and instructional classroom.
- Teach a variety of Food Preparation courses:
Hospitality, Nutrition, Serv Safe Certification, Dining and Beverage, Institutional Food Service, Food and Kitchen Management, Culinary Arts, and Baking. - Class responsibilities include attendance, student projects, monitoring student progress, curriculum development, and duties specific to the assigned Arizona Department of Corrections unit.
- Recognized certification as a Serv Safe instructor.
- At least five (5) years of directly related occupational experience in a discipline related field such as Culinary Arts, Institutional Food Preparation, Commercial Food Preparation, Basic Nutrition, Hospitality, and Food and Kitchen Management.
Applicant must be able to pass and maintain Arizona Department of Corrections security clearance and obtain and keep State of Arizona Contractor Clearance .
SalaryEntry salary is $66,866.40. Placement above the minimum may be considered up to $82,285.00 dependent upon education and experience.

All academic coursework must be from a regionally accredited college or university or have letters of evaluation from an acceptable agency such as NACES. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated for equivalency.
Background VerificationAll candidates must undergo background verification. Level of verification for this position is Standard level and Department of Corrections security clearance.
