Duties
As an Information Technology Specialist (Info Sec), at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:
- Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains customer hardware and software.
- Updates the organization's contingency or disaster recovery plans to respond to new security requirements or changes in the IT architecture.
- Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to customer-related incidents.
- Evaluates and recommends the acquisition of, implementation of, and dissemination of IT security tools, procedures, and practices to protect information assets.
- Plans and conducts security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks.
- You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- You must successfully pass a drug screen.
- Male applicants born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service.
- Complete the initial online assessment and USAHire Assessment, if required.

- Probationary Period: this full‑time permanent position may require a one‑year probationary period.

Applicants must demonstrate possession of specialized experience. You qualify for the GS‑12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS‑11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
- Applies the findings of assessments to mitigate potential IT security risks.
- Reviews organizations disaster recovery plans to ensure they are aligned with new security requirements.
- Supports the planning or delivery of IT security needs.
- Evaluates and supports the implementation of security IT authentication technologies to enhance access controls.
