The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an energetic leader to fill the Workforce Supervisor position. This position provides direct supervision over the Industry Programs Specialist (IPS) program and staff. Oversees scheduling, transportation, and work crews. Also, liaisons between private industry supervision, management, and the prison administration/management.

Job Duties
  • Supervises the Industries Production Specialist (IPS) program at a prison complex
  • Supervises ACI inmate work crews
  • Acts as a liaison between the private business, prison administration/management and ACI
  • Ensures private business compliance with contracts, reviews bids and proposals, and ensures compliance with department policy
  • Organizes inmate transportation to and from the work sites as well as emergency transports
  • Transports inmates to and from various work locations as needed
  • Prepares reports and ensures the effectiveness of the IPS program at the assigned locations
  • Attends meetings and training as required
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of:
    • Laws, rules, regulations and policies governing inmates in work programs
    • Contract management and compliance
    • Principles of inmate and staff supervision
  • Skill in:
    • Applying Federal, State and agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the duties
    • Discipline measurement
    • Use of radio systems and communication codes
    • Communicating with staff, inmates and private contracted companies
    • Verbal and written communication as required by the duties and assignments in a correctional setting
  • Ability to:
    • Lift/Care approximately 20 lbs
    • Push/Pull approximately 20 lbs
    • Walk/Run approximately 1 mile
    • Follow and enforce department policies and procedures
    • Adhere to security protocols
    • Work with inmates in a correctional environment
Selective Preferences
  • At least five (5) years of Department of Corrections experience supervising staff and inmates
Pre-Employment Requirements

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and a drug test.

Requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement within 90 days in the event there is a rotation and/or operational need that requires transporting inmates.

Candidates who have been separated from State Service for more than two (2) years will require successful completion of a training curriculum upon their assignment to the position.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class‑appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended.
