This is your opportunity to step into a fulfilling and stable career with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) as a Physical Plant Supervisor II at Arizona State Prison Complex - Eyman. You will be daily involved in general facilities maintenance and construction, responsible for maintenance inspections of all buildings, development, implementation and prioritization of maintenance repair assignments and Preventative Maintenance Program in the unit.

- Assigns and supervises specialists and technicians in all maintenance and repairs activities, including training staff via subordinate supervision.
- Supervises, schedules, and directs activities pertaining to unit maintenance and construction issues.
- Performs maintenance repairs, new construction, and preventive maintenance as required.
- Evaluates, schedules, and plans maintenance related projects, including pricing, material lists, equipment needs, and time frames.
- Conducts inspections and ensures tools and equipment are operable and inventoried.
- Completes related documentation as required by policy and as directed by supervisor using basic office equipment/computer.
- Attends all training and meetings as scheduled.
- Drives on State business.
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment.
- Supervise principles and techniques.
- Employee relations and work schedule.
- Structural issues regarding building and utility service systems, including blueprints, safety practices, and codes.
- All trades, i.e., electrical, electronic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, general building maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
- Budgetary issues, including estimating costs and ordering of materials.
- Basic computer skills:
Google, Excel, and MS Word to create forms, charts, and conduct research. - National and local building codes.
- Written and verbal communication.
- Organization and scheduling of maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance program for the unit.
- Interpersonal skills, employee relations, and time management.
- Communication with all organizational levels.
- Demonstrate use of common and specialized tools, equipment, and materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics.
- Demonstrate methods and practices for preventive maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction.
- Work in a prison environment.
- On-the-job training as a tradesman or one (1) year of experience equivalent to a Physical Plant Supervisor I.
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and a medical/physical examination. In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter. If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply.
Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate drivers license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training.
An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R). All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
