The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is searching for a production specialist with shop experience in speciality metal production who can effectively supervise a workforce team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of an Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) production shop. Provides critical operational support as needed, including supervision and tool/equipment management. Enforces daily sanitation, quality assurance, and security practices.
Ensures teams are informed of production goals, confirming each area is properly staffed, and monitoring metal shop operations to ensure they follow established standards of work.

Job Duties:- Works with the supervisor in setting up daily work assignments and other daily production activities
- Maintains training records for all workforce participants
- Supervises the inmate workforce in the assigned manufacturing center
- Provides hands-on training for workforce participants on the ERP system, clerical work, reports, and various production processes and methods
- Provides oversight for all quality control stations to ensure all product produced meets the established quality guidelines
- Provides security by closely monitoring inmate workers' activities
- Ensures the safe operation of machinery utilized in the production process
- Monitors and controls inventory levels
- Utilizes best practice planning and layout of product components and required materials for the production and requisition of raw materials and supplies
- Communicates all material or equipment quality issues or delivery concerns to the area supervisor
- Reviews inmate hours and pay in ACIS for accuracy, makes any necessary changes
- Ensures all workforce participants are paid on time and correctly
- Attends all required staff training
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- Supervisory techniques for the assigned inmate workforce
- Standard production methods and techniques in the speciality metal production manufacturing industry
- Equipment and materials utilized in the operation of a multi-line production center
- Divisional and Departmental policies and procedures, including fire and safety standards and regulations
- Security requirements and practices
- Directing, supervising, and evaluating inmate workers Add training
- The operation of a multi-line specialty metal products manufacturing industry, including the operations and maintenance of equipment and machinery utilized
- Written and verbal communication
- Computer applications
- Lift/Carry approximately 20 lbs.
- Push/pull approximately 20 lbs.
- Walk/run approximately 3 miles
- Interpret ADCRR policy and procedures
- Supervise an inmate workforce
- Communicate verbally and in writing
- Operate a computer relating to the ERP system, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office
