Transportation Coordinator

AGS is looking for a Transportation Coordinator to work in Florence, AZ.

The Transportation Coordinator (TC) oversees the transportation team consisting of Transportation Supervisors and Officers. The TC is responsible for the overall management of the detention transportation program. Duties are delegated in writing and through verbal commands to subordinate staff. The TC conducts ongoing reviews and inspections of the program to ensure contract compliance and program efficiency. The TC ensure staff are managing and meeting transportation scheduling, maintenance and logistics, and ensure services are delivered on time and according to contract requirements.

The Transportation Coordinator (TC) provides oversight and management ensuringdetention transportation services are provided timely and safely. The TC oversees all Transportation staff and operations. The TC performs and delegates work through subordinate supervisors for all scheduling, dispatching, licensing, and fleet maintenance for the contract. The TC provides reports and data analysis to improve and maintain efficiency and reduce overall costs associated with transportation.

TC ensures compliance with policies and standards and recommends corrective action to superiors when necessary. TC is responsible for the execution of all transportation schedules including on-call on-demand requests for transportation.

Oversees the fleet management program to include maintenance, safety, inspections, DOT compliance, PBNDS compliance, and Department of Transportation Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and hours of Service requirements.

Lastly, TC duties include monitoring maintenance schedules and ensuring vehicles are timely taken for maintenance; identifying vehicle maintenance providers with competent mechanics for our vehicles makes/models; performing minor maintenance, e.g. checking oil, changing blades, filters, and other minor routine maintenance.

Qualifications and Knowledge/Skills should be updated to include something about fleet management. They should have some kind of background with managing a large fleet, dispatch, maintenance – something.

• The TC provides direction and oversight of the transportation program and adjusts priorities and schedules for completion of work.
• The TC assigns work efforts to subordinate supervisors according to work priorities, work demands and the requirements of assignments and capabilities of the employees.
• The TC, assisted by a designated fleet supervisor ensures fleet management program meets maintenance, safety, inspections, DOT compliance, and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) requirements.
• Monitors and evaluates employees' work. Establishes or recommends performance standards and evaluations.
• Monitors and evaluates the delivery of services to the client and the methods and techniques used to provide them. Develops and implements plans to improve the delivery of services, individually, with other supervisors, and through process improvement teams.
• Review of reports on work and individual cases, both specific and statistical, manually and through automated systems. Monitors trends and patterns and recommends changes and improvements in operations, methodology or program.
• Reviews routes and load scheduling ensuring staff loads meet minimum requirements for passenger pickups and drop offs.
• Ensures subordinate supervisors are properly meeting transportation requirements to include assignments of stationary detention officer activities.
• Reviews and approve prepared schedules ensuring team assignments match workload requirements.
• Conducts audits of staff performance and duties ensuring both supervisors and transportation officers are performing and documenting vehicle and equipment checks.
• Provide weekly status reports for the Program Manager.
• Review incident/accident reports submitted by Shift Supervisors; submit to Program Manager; follow up with supplemental reports as necessary; assist Program Manager and Department of Homeland Security/Immigrations and Customs Enforcement with investigation as necessary.
• Ensure all detainee transport is documented on the proper forms and in the proper format and documentation is provided to the transport driver prior to departure.
• Ensure safety related transportation issues are addressed immediately and any vehicle with a safety issue is removed from service until repairs are completed.
• Conducts random quality control audits and inspections of vehicles ensuring required equipment is loaded in vehicles and vehicles are kept in safe working order.
• Ensure compliance with U. S. Department of Transportation and Arizona Department of Transportation regulations for driver physicals annual tests, random drug screens, and driver documentation in accordance with the Transport Manual.
