The Housing Department Facilities Office Assistant assists on‑campus residents with maintenance and building services requests, expediting resolutions and escorting contractors during inspections and repair work.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop an extensive knowledge of maintenance related tasks and delegate these tasks to the right staff member in an appropriate, timely manner.
  • Escort contractors and outside vendors to specific work areas. Assist work control manager and work control assistant with key control for contractors and vendors needing access to our buildings.
  • Assist with administrative duties.
  • Create work orders in AIM.
  • Clean, wash and maintain UGA vehicles and LSV’s.
  • Other duties as needed.
Position Summary

The Housing Department Facilities Office Assistant helps on‑campus residents maintain the highest quality of life in their living space by expediting maintenance and building services work requests to get them resolved as quickly as possible. The office assistant also escorts contractors on campus for inspections and repair work.

Minimum Qualifications

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies.

Physical Demands

1. Bend at the waist and the knees.
2. Work with arms and hands overhead for extended periods of time.
3. Crawl to complete various tasks.
4. May occasionally perform work related duties outdoors, in hot or cold weather conditions.
5. Drive a state vehicle.

Background Investigation Policy

Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check, confirmation of credentials and employment history, and a satisfactory credit check. Applicants may also be subject to a pre‑employment drug test for positions with high‑risk responsibilities, if applicable.
