Job Overview

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Senior Superintendents to join our team for large-scale long‑haul fiber installation projects. The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day field operations, developing project plans, and monitoring performance. Recognized as an expert, they anticipate client needs and provide solutions, sharing expertise and mentoring colleagues.
Responsibilities- Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations.
- Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project calendars.
- Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects.
- Track and report on financial aspects of the project.
- Participate in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations.
- Set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.
- Eight or more years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent.
- Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment.
- Post‑secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as subcontractors.
- Problem‑solving abilities and capacity to anticipate and address issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Must meet physical requirements: sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.).
- Site‑based position that may require travel to various Ledcor offices and project sites.
