1B – 5:00am to 5:30pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday.
Position Summary
The Wave Planner/Clerk performs customer service activities in a prompt, courteous, and effective manner. Key duties include timely and accurate handling of customer orders in compliance with all DSV Work Instructions and customer requirements, and ensuring that shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time.
- Process all customer orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Generate all related paperwork and necessary information for orders, checking for special requests and shipping paperwork.
- Coordinate special, last‑minute shipping requests with the operations department and expedite orders as required.
- Prioritize customer orders according to scheduled pick‑up time or pier cutoff.
- Furnish shipping and tracking information as required.
- Maintain a good working relationship with customers by responding to inquiries regarding receipts, shipments, inventory counts, etc., in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Report customer feedback and any signs of dissatisfaction to management.
- Oversee all paperwork associated with orders and maintain corresponding files.
- Maintain the DSV Work Instructions Manual, answering phone calls and operating office machines and computers as necessary.
- Operate the computer terminal proficiently, entering and verifying data regarding customer orders, shipments, receipts, adjustments, etc., in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents and gather and maintain all data and records related to shipping and receiving activities.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies and collect all documentation for inbound freight, routing to the proper record‑keeping unit.
- Comply with all DSV Work Instructions and site‑specific policies.
- Verify that products and orders meet quality standards, reporting any damages or discrepancies.
- Stack, package, shrink‑wrap, and label products as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Execute all safety protocols, maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area and assisting in the security of the warehouse.
- Perform other clerical duties and backup support as assigned, including overtime when required by business.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse (mild to moderate).
- Computer
Skills:
Basic computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. - Language: English – reading, writing, verbal.
- Mathematical
Skills:
Basic level. - Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous customer service experience, including phone calls and operation of office equipment.
- Bending – occasionally.
- Walking and standing – frequently.
- Sitting – constantly.
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling 11–20 pounds, with ability to reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel.
The work environment is typically low to moderate in noise level and rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
