Job Summary

The School Psychologist serves as a member of the Special Education Department and provides comprehensive psycho educational assessment services to support the identification, eligibility, and instructional planning for students with disabilities. The position focuses primarily on evaluation, data interpretation, and collaboration with IEP teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psycho educational evaluations for initial evaluations, reevaluations, and independent educational evaluations (as assigned)
  • Administer, score, and interpret cognitive, academic, behavioral, adaptive, and social-emotional assessments
  • Prepare thorough, accurate, and timely written evaluation reports in accordance with IDEA, state regulations, and district procedures
  • Serve as a required member of IEP and eligibility teams, providing data-driven recommendations
  • Explain assessment results to parents, educators, and team members in clear, understandable language
  • Collaborate with special education staff, administrators, and related service providers to support appropriate identification and placement decisions
  • Assist in determining eligibility for special education and related services
  • Consult with teachers and staff regarding assessment results and instructional implications
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with timelines, procedural safeguards, and confidentiality requirements
  • Participate in due process meetings, mediations, and hearings when required
  • Stay current with assessment tools, special education law, and best practices in school psychology
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education
Required Qualifications
  • Master's or Specialist degree in School Psychology
  • Valid state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
  • Extensive knowledge of special education evaluation procedures and IDEA requirements
  • Strong assessment, report writing, and data interpretation skills
