associate dean of college operations
position summary: the associate dean for college operations reports directly to the dean and oversees the management of infrastructure, including facilities, information technology, and safety initiatives to support the cvm’s tripartite mission of teaching, service and research. The adco will have responsibility for college policy and bylaws development and implementation, provide oversight for various college services and facilities and ensure compliance with all relevant university, state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
you must hold a current faculty position at the rank of professor or clinical professor in the college of veterinary medicine at the university of georgia to apply to this position.
- managing space in partnership with department chairs and, where appropriate the associate dean of research and graduate studies, including faculty office and laboratory assignments
- supervising renovations of facilities
- supervising information technology services and vetview
- overseeing cvm safety and compliance issues
- overseeing major equipment acquisition
- managing special projects assigned by the dean
- serving as the dean’s delegate upon request
- leading review of changes to bylaws and policies within the cvm, as needed
- terminal degree or foreign equivalent with an academic background and appropriate credentials to be a full professor in an academic department in the cvm.
- demonstrated effectiveness in the successful management of facilities and compliance issues.
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- record of strategic planning, performance evaluation, and policy development.
- record of academic leadership and administration, including management of staff and facilities.
- evidence of high levels of academic administrative attainment as appropriate for the position’s duties.
current faculty position at the rank of professor or clinical professor in the college of veterinary medicine at the university of georgia is required.
