Position: Asst/Assoc Professor, Human Performance and Rehab Sciences (Tenure-Track)

Overview

Teach courses in the Elementary Education/Special Education (EARLY/SPED) dual program. Provide in-depth knowledge of elementary education and/or special education, with an emphasis on math and language arts. Facilitate engaging and interactive classroom experiences and foster a dynamic learning environment. Collaborate with faculty members to enhance the curriculum and align it with industry best practices. Stay abreast of current trends and developments in elementary education and special education to continually enhance instructional approaches.

Provide timely feedback, assessment, and support to students, promoting their academic and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic advisement for undergraduate students.
  • Ensure the daily function of operations and services related to any assigned program, initiative, or objective.
  • Work under general supervision, determining work sequences within department/divisional guidelines.
  • Support the radiologic technology program’s effectiveness, continuous improvement, accreditation, and assessment processes, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate student clinical experiences, fostering learning, engagement, and professional development for graduates in radiologic sciences.
  • Participate in service and engagement activities that support the program, department, college, and university.
  • Facilitate daily program operation and ongoing program evaluation and development.
  • Coordinate student clinical experiences, including communication with affiliate sites and monitoring student progress.
  • Supervise employees engaged in HVAC/R operations, requiring expert knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Monitor, assign tasks, prioritize, coordinate, and inspect the work of HVAC/R staff; collaborate with contractors and vendors; assist leadership with evaluation of HVAC/R systems campus‑wide during project development.
  • Contribute to teaching and mentoring within the PhD in Health Sciences program. Demonstrate the potential to develop and sustain a focused research agenda, possess strong knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies, and show a commitment to ongoing scholarly development.
  • Assist in coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning, and evaluating the swimming and diving team as directed.
  • Establish a strong corporate sales pipeline for the department’s Data Mine program, create effective business development strategies, and collaborate with leadership to develop and manage high‑level strategic partnerships for the college.
  • Teach and support undergraduate nursing students in clinical and laboratory settings, supervising hands‑on learning experiences and guiding the development of essential nursing skills. Facilitate simulation scenarios that strengthen clinical reasoning and decision‑making. Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback to promote growth.
  • Grade weekly assignments and clinical documentation, ensuring students integrate classroom theory into practice while maintaining a safe, supportive, and high‑quality learning environment.
  • Design, plan, and create mechanisms to set‑up, implement, and report credit and related programming offered via the OCAT. Work with departments and external partners to identify and develop opportunities for additional programming through OCAT.
  • Coordinate and support critical functions of College Credit Plus (CCP) and collaborate with site leadership at the Steubenville location to promote, further, and ensure the effective and efficient operation of the YSU Steubenville location.
