Early Childhood Instructional Assistant – Hazelwood Early Childhood )
LocationHazelwood Elementary
Schedule & SalaryGrade 3 – 187 days/7.0 hours per day. Salary: $17.43/hr – $19.11/hr critical Need Stipend $3.50/hr and Early Childhood Instructional Assistant Stipend $1.00/hr. (See attached documents for full schedule.)
Scope of Responsibilities- Assist the supervising teacher or principal in instructional activities.
- Provide tutoring and support to students.
- Document pupil progress and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials and equipment.
- Assist bus drivers with supervising, loading, and unloading students.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para educator Assessment or 48 college semester hours.
- Demonstrated competent language skills.
- Successful experience working with children individually or in groups.
- Program specific certifications/training.
- Complete all required trainings within 90 days of employment, including bus monitoring training.
If your highest education is High School or GED, you must take and pass the Kentucky Para educator Assessment Exam. The exam is free and you have three chances to obtain a passing score. The KPA Study Guide and KPA Prep Class with JCPS Adult Education are available.
