Position Overview
Instructional Assistant (5 Year Old) – Wilkerson Elementary School ). Start time 7:30.

WILKERSON ELEMENTARY. Position Type:
Classroom Instructional (Non-Certified) / Elementary Instructional Assistant. Working Calendar: 187 days / 6.5 hours per day.

1A Grade
3. Salary Range: $17.43/hr - $19.11/hr critical Need Stipend: $3.50 per hour.
- Participate as an integral member of the instructional program under the direction of the supervising teacher or Principal.
- Provide tutoring to students.
- Assist in documenting pupil progress.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials and equipment.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or 48 semester college hours.
- Demonstrated competent language skills.
- Successful experience working with children, individually or in groups, including the ability to read and understand the meanings of words and associated ideas and to use them effectively.
- Participation in program training as specified by the Kentucky Department of Education and the local district.
- Program-specific certifications/training.

, you must take and pass the Kentucky Para educator Assessment Exam. The exam is free and you have three chances to obtain a passing score. For assistance with studying for this assessment, refer to the KPA Study Guide and/or sign up for the KPA Prep Class with JCPS Adult Education. You can sign up here and make sure to select "I want KPA classes".
