Pay Range: $18.27/hr – $20.07/hr
Stipends: Critical Need: $3.50/hr; ECE Instructional Assistant: $1.00/hr
Working Calendar: 187 days / 7 hours per day
Exceptional Child Education (ECE) Programs: Programs designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities. The district is committed to providing a high‑quality education for these students. Programs support students with moderate to severe disabilities, mild mental disabilities, other health impairments, emotional‑behavioral disabilities, autism, visual or hearing impairments, learning disabilities, social communication, or combinations thereof.
Scope of Responsibilities: Assist in implementing each student’s individualized education plan; help establish and maintain a pleasant, safe, and structured learning environment; display willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para educator Exam (KPA) or 48 college semester hours.
- Willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- Physical ability and willingness to assist with physical needs of students such as positioning, toileting, and lifting.
- Willingness to attend district ECE in‑service professional development.
Additional Requirements: If your highest education is High School or GED, you must take and pass the Kentucky Para educator Assessment Exam. The exam is free and you have three chances to obtain a passing score.
Applicants with transcripts obtained outside the U.S. must have their credentials evaluated prior to referral.
