Appalachian Christian Academy in Manchester, Kentucky, seeks a self‑directed Kindergarten Assistant Teacher who loves children and wholeheartedly supports the Adventist mission. The position is perfect for retired teachers, teachers‑in‑training, or anyone passionate about Christian education.

Appalachian Christian Academy is located on the campus of the Advent Health hospital and clinic in Manchester, Kentucky. We are located in the historic Daniel Boone National Forrest, surrounded by beautiful Appalachian scenery and outdoor adventure. We are also within scenic driving distance of the Smoky Mountains, Red River Gorge, Ark Encounter, and Southern Adventist University.
Appalachian Christian Academy is a mission school right at the heart of Appalachia. Over half of our students do not come from Adventist homes with most receiving financial aid in order to receive a Christian education. Required ExperienceThe applicant must have the legal right to work and reside in the United States. The candidate must be a committed Seventh‑day Adventist.
What You’ll Do:- Supervise and Implement the classroom curriculum and daily lessons specifically for Kindergarten students. This is a local‑hire, hourly‑paid position, connecting student in positive relationships with each other, and their teachers, and most importantly, with their best friend Jesus.
- Support students in active, multi‑sensory experiences including enthusiastically guiding our students through gardening and outdoor exploration, turning the natural world into a fun learning environment.
- Actively support school programs and spiritual life, including regular local church attendance and integration into our growing church community.
