Private Lessons Instructor for Band
Qualifications:
Has a valid Kentucky teaching certificate; or holds a valid Emergency Certificate for Substitute Teaching under the qualifications outlined in 16 KAR 2:120 Sec. 2 (7)(b); or is employed as a Para Educator, with Boone County Schools, and qualifies under compliance with KRS 161.180(2). Have current certification of C.P.R. course including Adult and child certifications, the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator and the requisite First Aid Training, conducted by an instructor or program approved by a college or university, the American Red Cross, American Heart Association or other bona fide accrediting agency.
Has experience in band conducting. Has the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, parents, and the community.

Job Goal:
To provide leadership in the organization and sponsorship of private lesson instruction for students interested.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and/or group instruction after school hours to band members at the high school and middle school levels.
- Supervise students during lessons.
- Coordinate use of the band room and equipment with Band Director.
- Instruct in areas of expertise (i.e. instrument of expertise).
- Obtain list of interested students from Band Director.
- Be responsible for reports of progress of students to the Band Director.
- Have all students under supervision of certified personnel at all times at approved after school programs.
Terms of Employment:
Variable pay based on number of students instructed. Board approved 9-12-02 Revised 1/10/2019.
