Position Highlights
The Office of Undergraduate Admission seeks enthusiastic candidates to represent the University of Arizona and the division of Enrollment Management. The Regional Coordinator of Ohio Recruitment is responsible for development and oversight of all Columbus-based recruitment efforts, including extensive travel year-round with peak times in the fall and spring. This role serves as the entry point for prospective students to discover Arizona and the Wildcat community.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesTravel and Territory Management
- Serve as a primary resource for prospective students and families to support the recruitment, application process, and enrollment to the University
- Plan, organize, and attend various recruitment and yield events for the University that occur in the day, evening, and on weekends
- Identify, register, and attend high school and college visits, college and transfer fairs, and other recruitment opportunities within the assigned territory
- Manage a budget for the assigned territory, including purchasing travel expenses and submitting timely expense reports
- Assist other regional admission staff as needed with recruitment events and programs, including support outside of the assigned territory (with potential for limited international travel)
- Travel frequently to in-state and out-of-state meetings and events, requiring a valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle
- Communicate the value of an Arizona education through conversations, presentations at college fairs, and written communication
- Provide initial financial aid and scholarship guidance
- Support students to complete their applications by submitting materials and required documents within the assigned territory, being mindful of key dates and deadlines
- Oversee the management of the assigned territory market to establish benchmarks to reach overall recruitment goals
Application Review
- Read, evaluate, and recommend admissions decisions via a comprehensive application review model for prospective students from the assigned territory and other students as assigned
- Counsel applicants, parent/guardians, and advisors on the application process, admissions decisions, and merit scholarships
- Utilize training, sound judgment, and experience to consider each student’s full academic history and life experiences to make recommendations for admission to the University of Arizona
- Participate in committee review and shared decision-making
- Use Technolutions Slate CRM and analytical tools to maintain a consistent, data-driven process free from bias and aligned with university and enrollment goals
Relationship Building
- Counsel prospective students and families about admissions, financial aid, academic programs, and student life at the University of Arizona
- Maintain professional affiliations including local, regional, and national affiliates as they correlate with recruitment goals
- Communicate via SMS text, email, and phone to engage and follow up promptly with prospective students
- Accurately record engagement, interactions, and work, navigating multiple university systems and client relationship management systems
- Develop and grow partnerships with community college advisors and other campus partners
- Communicate with high school counselors to nurture relationships and establish rapport
Strategic Recruitment
- Research, design, and implement strategic recruitment activities in collaboration with supervisors and enrollment management leadership
- Co‑ordinate assigned recruitment programs, projects, and events to cultivate and recruit prospective students
- Utilize analytical tools and research skills to seek new opportunities and interventions in recruitment and enrollment work
- Stay current on higher education and admissions profession topics
- Liaise with internal campus partners and external stakeholders to support university objectives
- Represent the university at professional conferences and related events
- Strong oral and written communication skills, public speaking, and presentation skills
